Students of 4th ESO have prepared a presentation about a choosen issue and have shared it with all of their classmates.

The Fonix 2.018: 2nd Cicle Group

 

Representing the First Cicle of ESO, our team is composed of:

These three students of 1rst year present their project called Saving the Environement in our Planet, with a lot of tips to preserve our planet.

These three students of 1rst year present their project called Healthy Week Challenge, with a lot of recommandations to have a healthy, balanced diet.

 

The Fonix 2018

THE FONIX is a competition for students attending Catalan schools. It is aimed at encouraging English learning among primary and secondary school students and learners at adult education centres.

Students may participate in the competition only through the school where they are enrolled.

This year, in the 11th edition of the competition, we are introducing a new format that is organised in two stages and has the following features:

1. Development of critical and reflective thinking.
2. Problem-solving and seeking of creative solutions. 
3. Use of digital environments and transmedia communication. 
4. A focus on values related to ethical issues defined in UNESCO’s 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, equity, solidarity and social cohesion.
   

Participants

Catalan public, private and grant-aided schools that provide instruction at the stages and levels into which the six categories are organised:

• CATEGORY 1: Students in 5th–6th year of primary education
• CATEGORY 2: Students in 1st–2nd year of ESO
• CATEGORY 3: Students in 3rd–4th year of ESO
• CATEGORY 4: Students in 1st–2nd year of Batxillerat
• CATEGORY 5: Adult Introductory English students (A1/A1 +): GES 1, English 1, English 2 and PPACFGM
• CATEGORY 6: Adult Basic English students (A2/A2+): GES 2, English 3, CAM, PPCFGS and PPAU+25

Several teams of students from a school may participate in each category. Each team must be made up of a minimum of two and a maximum of three students.

Participation

• Teams present a mini-project in the form of an animated presentation, mini-video, etc.
• Schools select one team in each category and send the projects (in AVI or MP4 video format) to the email address info@concurs-angles.info via WeTransfer or Dropbox.
• The Organisation posts the projects on YouTube.
• Vote by YouTube viewers (15% of the score) + vote by Organising Committee (85% of the score).

Venue of the Schools Song Contest

The great day is coming. Next Thursday, May the 18th, is the day of the Schools Song Contest this year. And The Unstoppable Saint Rockers will take the stage at three o'clock.

The show will be held at Col·legi Sant Gabriel in Barcelona.

School Day of Non-Violence and Peace 2017

21 Countries, 41 Schools... We want Peace! Lots of young people yearning for peace. There's still hope...

Elements and Principles of Art

ELEMENTS OF ART:

The visual components of colour, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value.

Line	An element of art defined by a point moving in space. Line may be two-or three-dimensional, descriptive, implied, or abstract.
Shape	An element of art that is two-dimensional, flat, or limited to height and width.
Form	An element of art that is three-dimensional and encloses volume; includes height, width AND depth (as in a cube, a sphere, a pyramid, or a cylinder).
Value	The lightness or darkness of tones or colours. White is the lightest value; black is the darkest. The value halfway between these extremes is called middle grey.
Colour	An element of art made up of three properties: hue, value, and intensity. • Hue: name of colour • Value: hue’s lightness and darkness • Intensity: quality of brightness and purity
Space	An element of art by which positive and negative areas are defined or a sense of depth achieved in a work of art.
Texture	An element of art that refers to the way things feel, or look as if they might feel if touched.

PRINCIPLES OF ART:

Balance, emphasis, movement, proportion, rhythm, unity, and variety; the means an artist uses to organize elements within a work of art.

Rhythm	A principle of design that indicates movement, created by the careful placement of repeated elements in a work of art to cause a visual tempo or beat.
Balance	A way of combining elements to add a feeling of equilibrium or stability to a work of art. Major types are symmetrical and asymmetrical
Emphasis (contrast)	A way of combining elements to stress the differences between those elements.
Proportion	A principle of design that refers to the relationship of certain elements to the whole and to each other.
Gradation	A way of combining elements by using a series of gradual changes in those elements. (Large shapes to small shapes, dark hue to light hue, etc).
Harmony	A way of combining similar elements in an artwork to accent their similarities (achieved through use of repetitions and subtle gradual changes).
Variety	A principle of design concerned with diversity or contrast. Variety is achieved by using different shapes, sizes, and/or colours in a work of art.
Movement	A principle of design used to create the look and feeling of action and to guide the viewer’s eye throughout the work of art.

The Purposes of the Arts

Art is a diverse range of human activities and the products of those activities. Here you have some of its purposes, though we could list several more because these purposes have varied throughout the years and the history.

The Fonix 2.017: Art and Design (Theme for the Regional Stage Revealed)

This year’s theme (2016) will be focused on Art and Design.

1st CYCLE OF SECONDARY (1r i 2n D'ESO)

Vocabulary:  Words related to theme: stickers, patterns, background.  
Reading: Answer questions about a text, find words in text.
Tasks: Match definitions, gap filler, choose correct verb or word to complete a text: (present simple/present continuous.).
Writing: Giving opinion, describing a picture.

Time Limit: 45 /50 minutes

2nd CYCLE OF SECONDARY (3r i 4t D'ESO)

Vocabulary: Words and expressions related to theme: sketch, canvas, shade, doodle.
Reading: Answer questions about a text, choose the correct word.
Tasks: Match definitions, answer questions, gap filler; choice of tense (past tenses- ESO 4 includes past perfect).
Writing: Give opinion about art, making a choice and saying why.
Time Limit: 45 /50 minutes
